Game Day

Today was game day. Avellino's big debut in Euroleague. For those of you who aren't knowledgable in European basketball, each year the league changes, only the top 32 teams in all of Europe from the previous season. A lot of excitement in the air here. In the morning I have been trying to read the sports section to work on my italian (mostly I just scan for Drake's name and then ask someone to translate it for me!). I suare I do learn a few new words every day. But I did discover that 500 Olympiacos fans (the team we are playing tonight) were rejected when they requested tickets. Greece has some of the craziest fans. Antonio, (hotel owner), told us a story of a game were the fans ripped out the toilets and threw them on the court at an away game. Even though we didn't have those crazy fans in attendance, there was still some drama... stay tuned.

Game day always includes a nice long nap. Drake sleeping in our new home.

Our view outside our hotel balcony

I tried to let him get some good rest, and went for a walk. Wanted to show you what the trash situation is like here. Pick up day apparently is whenever they feel like it. Not much organization, like everything else in Italy.

Some pics from the game tonight. We started out strong, but couldn't get the W.

Drake getting introduced.

Team huddle

New arena, they made for Euroleague. Comfy, cushioned seats and nice scoreboards.

Strange guy who sits in front of us and bangs on his drum the WHOLE game.

Our fans.

Just a picture that makes me happy. This summer I made Brooklyn and Kenz dress up in my veil and flower lilly. I miss them.

Seriously, the man with the drum made me CRACK UP, Gin. He looks like he'd be entertaining. Your pictures make me so happy because I love to see what it's like wherever you are! Thinking of you both and miss you.
