Moments in Capo d'Orlando, Sicilia

This is where we began the season, Capo d'Orlando, Sicilia. It is a town of about 15,000 people on the Meditteranean. There was not much to do, but the good parts were the weather, the water, Drake's teammates, their significant others, and Gianmaria (GM) and Meo (Coach). I know it would have been a great year. Too Bad we didn't get to stay!

First, pictures of our apartment:

This is the view from our patio. Its not the prettiest, but we were one block from the Sea and the Arena.

One of the things you take for granted in America, a washer. Drake and I were the only ones on the team that had one that I was aware of. The other girls were doing laundry in the sink, or coming over to borrow ours. I was happy it was a whirlpool, but Norb they are slacking over here when it comes to appliances. You really feel like you won the lottery if you get a dryer.

This was a crazy old lady who lived across the street. Sometimes when I was bored, I would watch her do crazy things like cleaning her windows with her bare hands, swatting at flys, and talking to herself. She wore these exact clothes for the entire 15 days I was in Capo. I felt bad for her.

Overlooking Capo on a windy day

I often walked to the gym to work out and I found a shortcut through a little tunnel. This is Drake driving through. When I first found it, I thought it was just for walking. But it was used on an actual street, something you wouldn't see in America.

Day off at the Beach.

This was the night that they told us we were out of the league. These are some of Drake's teammates and coaches. Meo is in green, he always made me miss Dad more, probably because of the mustache.

This is the main hangout for the team. A pub called YouToo. It is owned by the team's PA announcer.

One of my favorite memories was a bonfire we had on the beach. Too bad they don't have graham crackers or real marshmallows.

Picture of the girls. Carin, Jenny, me, and Elana.
