Schmidt Family Trip

Man did we stay busy during my families' visit! They arrived on a Sunday. Lou and I flew that same morning to meet them in the Rome airport. Then we rented a car and drove 2 1/2 hours to Teramo to see Dinamo battle our old squad. It was a long day, but besides a minor meltdown by Lou at the airport (we got lots of looks) and a loss in Teramo, it was a stress free day.

Getting to know Uncle Josh
Lou was happy to be in grandma's arms again
We even stopped for dinner after the game at our favorite Argentinian Restaurant. We drove back to Rome that night, man that was a long day!
The next day we hit the streets of Rome. Everyone had been there but Joshie. He started out the day taking pictures of every old building he saw, I told him to hold off a bit. He was more than excited to see as much as he could of Rome. He was nonstop with the picture taking. Drake left that night after dinner to get back in time for practice Tuesday morning. We stayed one more day. I was proud of mom she kept up with all of us and did lots of walking.
Beautiful morning at Spanish Steps
Getting ready to do some damage on Via Condotti
Inside the Vatican museum... not stroller friendly FYI, lots of steps and no ramps or elevators. By the end of the day we had a great system going though. Why is Mandy standing like this?
The next day we explored a bit of Sassari and made a quick trip to Alghero before Dad arrived.
Getting to know grandpa. He was such a trooper and made the trip all by himself and was only able to spend 4 days with us. So grateful he did.
So many people and too little space, I had to use Joshie as a changing pad (not really it was just more fun that way)
The next morning Drake had off so we were able to explore Castelsardo with him
Our most expensive meal of the trip, obviously for the view.
Family shot up in Castelsardo
On our way back we stopped in Porto Torres
We had a great time battling in Mario Kart.
Back in Alghero we lunched at Ro's favorite panini shop. We toasted to her:)
I love walking the old wall of Alghero
This girl is just so low maintenance. She didn't complain one bit about sitting in the trunk or sleeping on the couch. She is a keeper.
Bathtime
Gameday
After a great win against Bologna, we spent the next day at the beach in Stintino. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
What a great time we had. I was sad to see them leave but so grateful we got to make such great memories together. Thanks for making the trip to see us.
