Drake had a consecutive two days off, which is pretty special during the season so we were able to get out of Teramo for a little while. We ended up going to Fiuggi (about 40 minutes south of Rome), it is a town known for having a bunch of spas, and "magical" fountain water. People will travel from around the country to drink from these natural fountains because it is supposed to give good health. They were closed:(
Here is a shot of Drake on our way to the spa.
I didn't take many pictures from the spa but hopefully my explanations will give you a good enough picture. We didn't know what to expect from an italian spa, with the cultural differences and all. We quicky realized that going on the weekend is a very popular idea. The spa was very crowded. We were also a bit annoyed when we entered we were asked to put on shower caps. It really was hilarious when I would look over at Drake and see him in a shower cap surrounded by short italian people. That is a picture I really wish I could share. Also we learned that it is okay to wear your underwear. We were sitting in the sauna and I looked over and realized the men next to Drake were wearing just underwear!!!! Overall the spa was a great experience and we were able to relax, and get some good laughs in.
The next morning we did some driving around the area and checked out a "grotto" also known as a cave.

I know I have mentioned these "bathrooms" to some of you. Every time I try to use one I always think of my grandma. She would really struggle having to use this restroom. I wonder what grandmas do here?
The next day we did some more driving in Gran Sasso National Park, which is only about 20 minutes from Teramo. I find it amazing that we live so close to such beautiful scenery, awesome waterfalls, rivers, cliffs, etc. The pictures don't do it justice, so you will just have to come see it for yourself.

As you are driving through the park, there are signs for little villages scattered throughout the mountainside. We decided to drive up and check one of them out. I forget the name of this exact village, here is a shot of it as we were driving up windy roads.
This place was pretty crazy. We did not see a single soul, or any signs of life. I felt kind of creepy walking around just waiting for someone to come out and scare us.
It was very well kept and clean so we know there must be people living there. We found a hidden camera, which creeped us out even more. I felt like someone was just sitting around watching us on camera. We both mooned it before we left. J/K!
Maybe it was a little town for short people.
So that is all for now.

We really wish we could come sometime...in fact how about you talk to your parents and instead of them going this year, they send us :) Also...please let Drake know that no one appreciates pics of him in a bathrobe up on the internet... in fact I think they have a law against that here in the U.S... apparently you can get away with a lot in Italy :) We love you and miss you both so much and hope life is fun for you!
Hey! What the heck? I just saw your comment on my blog and I came looking for your baby! Where is the little critter? Is it as cute as mine?! Josh wanted me to take that dow as soon as I posted it because he was so embarrassed. I was like, "No, It needs to be shared." Pretty scary...
Hey! Still waiting to see your baby.... and yes, can you believe I did make the cake? But seriously, you have to look at some of my friend's blogs. Look on my friends' links at Paul and Jenna or Conrad and Jamie. Those girls make cakes that make mine look so sad. I was pretty nervous about making it because I used fondant and it was supposed to be two layers hgh but when I flipped over the first layer, like half of it stuck to the pan!!! So it ended up being just one layer... It was pretty stressful. Definitely not something I would do everyday... but no store makes a TOY STORY cake and that's all he wanted! So... I put on my supermom cape and got to work.
Alright, come on. Enough of Drake in his robe. Where's the pictures from the family visit? Are they still there? Did you take Mandy to the city of Volterra where New Moon was filmed? That's what I'd wanna see. :) And your baby picture I'm still waiting to see. I'm going to enter in you and Drake myself and post it if you don't
