Quick Trip to Roma

This post is a little old... We made this trip to Rome about a month ago, and are actually planning on going again after Drake's game on Sunday. Crazy to think that making a trip to Rome is not a big deal anymore, but honestly with the amount of opportunities and times we go, it doesn't get old or less magical. I love Rome, it truly is awe-inspiring. It was a beautiful day to go, and we were able to see everything we wanted (especially Drake, read ahead) even though we were there for less than 24 hours.
We started at the Coloseo and ate a picnic lunch I had made.
I always strive to fit in with the locals around here, but Drake really ruined my attempt.
We got there later in the afternoon on a Sunday, and saw everything we wanted to. Drake's ankle was pretty sore from practice so unfortunately we didn't get to do as much walking as I would have liked. Drake knew exactly were we were heading, we stopped at this Irish Bar, and Drake asked how I liked it. I replied that I thought it was fine, then I noticed a schedule of all the NFL games lined up for that evening. So yes we spent that evening for about 5 hours straight hanging out with mostly college students from America on study abroads watching the Patriots, and some other team I forget win. It really was a fun night and we did get gelato afterwards.
So this was the craziest part of our trip. Drake had made reservations at a hotel that he of course got for a great deal. Was in perfect location right by Piazza Navona. We found the street it was on and walked up and down, up and down looking for our hotel which was no were to be seen. I thought we had gotten scammed. Turns out this was the sign for our "hotel"And this is what you would see on the street. I was a little nervous as they buzzed us up. Wondering if we would be safe spending the night, but it really was a great room.
Right when we got in our room they brought us afternoon juice and chips. The next morning they brought in breakfast! Drake says we will always go back to this hotel. Note: about one foot outside that door is the "front desk."
The next morning I got up early, knowing Drake would not want to do much walking I headed over early to go into St. Peters Basilica. Walked right in! Later Drake went to see the Vatican with me. This picture makes me laugh. I love how Drake is holding my bag And of course we made time for the Spanish Steps and Louis Vuitton. If I watch football games with Drake he can at least walk into stores with me!

Not sure I will keep posting about our Rome trips unless something spectacular happens. I know that Rome doesn't get old for us, but I bet it gets old hearing about it.
