Day off in Benevento

Drake had Monday off, so we took a 45 minute drive to Benevento.
It is an important city for its history in this area (Campania). It was a Roman colony and became famous when the noble king Manfred voluntarily died in battle in 1266. (Yes I copied that from my Italy book). We had a hard time finding our way around once we got there, but we found the older, more interesting part of the city. Here are some pictures.

Right now Italy is having their Halloween. A little different from ours, they celebrate for a week long and kids are supposed to dress up all week. Instead of asking for candy they go around asking for money. We are trying to avoid all children at the moment.

The main street was nice

Thank you Dick and Sara for my birthday/christmas present. I LOVE my new shoes. Got a great deal on them too!

Our great friend Judd came to town to play Avellino. It was so nice seeing him. He is the best.

Okay that's all for now. Take care and Arrivederci!
