Trip To Berlin

As you can remember I got to make the trip to Berlin to see our boys make their debut in Eurocup. It was a very quick and busy trip, and I was so glad I got to go with Brenna and her adorable one year old. Got to practice having a one year old with me at all times:) I loved what we saw of Germany, and would love to go back with more time on my hands. Here are some pictures from our trip.

Brenna and Lydia on the bus ride to Rome

We were on a bus with fellow fans of Teramo that went on the trip. Mostly it was the society of the team and some press people. This is our president thanking everyone for their support, he is a great guy.
Airplane ride gave us lots of room to spread out
Drake and Jesse getting some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's

I love Lydia

When we got to Berlin the boys went there own way and we went to our Hotel. We were told to meet in the lobby in an hour for dinner... at least that is what we thought we were told. Language barriers left us a little confused. We left the hotel thinking we were going to a restauraunt close by but ended up walking the streets of Berlin for about 2 hours. Mind you it was about 8:30 at night when we left the hotel and I would guess about 40 degrees with slight mist/ rain. Poor Brenna was not dressed appropriately but she was such a tough cookie, I would have been complaining my a#* off, but she didn't say a word. Every italian kept coming up to her and asking why she didn't have a coat, or if she was cold. I kind of just went off on a tangent, but this picture is of a bratwurst/sausage stand they had throughout the city.

The president treated everyone to a snack :) Again, Brenna and I thought we were walking to dinner, so we didn't get one thinking we would ruin our appetites. Little did we know we would be walking for 2 hours. Need to learn italian!

We walked into a Christmas market. So much fun!

Some Berlin landmarks. Right behind this is the Reichstag. It used to be Hitlers headquarters during World War II. Now the top of it is an glass dome, meant to signify the open communication the German government has with its people.

Finally dinner

Game Time!!! Teramo is in a group with three other teams. After eight games, the top two teams advance to the next round. Berlin is favored to be one of these teams, but we played a great game, and heartbreakingly ended up losing by two by a true buzzer beater put back. Wow, I am impressed with my basketball lingo, Drake didn't even tell me that. I think I am getting much better!
Our Teramo group. Great trip, great memories, and made some great new friends. After the game we left directly for Teramo, ended up in our beds at about 4:30 AM.

A Rare Glimpse

I am kind of embarassed to be putting this up, but Drake thinks there is some interest out there for this video!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Today we celebrated Thanksgiving here in Teramo, with our fellow North Americans (we had 2 Canadians with us). Such great company! We ate very well, and even got to watch some American football.

This time of year always makes me reflect on the countless blessings I have been given. I am afraid someday I will look back at this time in our lives and regret that I didn't realize what an amazing opportunity this is for us to be living and playing the dream. I try to remind myself of this when I am feeling far away. I know I have so much to be thankful for, but to keep this short and sweet, I am thankful for good health and good families that send us support and love from afar. But mostly I am thankful for a healthy, happy, and hardworking husband who continues to make my life so extroardinary day after day.

Baseball

Here is a little video action from our last bowling night, of course this video was taken after we were done playing, I don't have my sports mixed up, don't worry. If you're wondering why we are mentioning Kelly and Dick it is because I made characters for everyone in the family, and they are the characters used while playing. We may get baseball going now too! We play Milan tonight. Things will be picking up next week because Eurocup starts this upcoming Tuesday. First game is against Berlin and I am excited that I get to go along. Brenna, little Lydia, and I will be making the trip with the team. Of course I will have lots to blog about then. Okay don't have much time at the moment. Hope everyone is having a great day (especially the birthday girls Rachel and Kelly), Stritch had a good game last night we are happy about that. Til next time, Ciao a tutti!

Loving the Wii

So the Wii has been getting lots of
action around our apartment, from some more than others. Drake can get in a solid 72 holes of golf in a day!! Here is a shot from our bowling night.

I know I said that I wouldn't post about our Rome trips anymore but I just love this shot of the pantheon, and mind you it was taken outside our hotel window. Such a great view.

We were excited to go to Rome with a crew this time.

Okay now this picture does not do this pizza justice, actually the more I look at it, it really looks horrible. I got the recipe from my neighbor, homeade crust and sauce. It was so delish!
