Trip to Roma

I know it has been quite a while since I have last blogged, and I am just going to say that my trip back home had something to do with that. Thank you to my loyal followers... (all 3 of you) your encouragement keeps this thing going, (Drake's nagging helps too).

I have been back in Italia for a little over a week now, and it is great to be with Drake again. It's crazy how fast my time back home went. I was so excited to see family and friends and to be in our house, but honestly as soon as I got home, I was anxious to get back to Drake.

Since I have been back we have gotten to spend some great times with Sara and Dick, and even got to take a 2 day trip to Rome. I loved it and can't wait to go back (it is only about 2 1/2 hours away). Lots to see and lots to shop for. Drake had 2 consecutive days off, and his parents flew out of Rome, so it was the perfect excuse to get out of Avellino.
Here are some shots around the town.

Nice shot of the coloseo

Trying to be Mr. GQ Italia. On our second day we paid to be part of a tour group, and get to see more of the coloseum. We learned some interesting things, Drake probably more than me. I was distracted by being SOSOSOSO cold. I didn't dress the best that day, thought it was warmer than it was. I was trying to pay attention, but my mind kept wandering trying to come up with some ways to get warmer. Anyways... interesting fact, we learned that at night time when they would have events in there, they would create light by burning people. Yes I said people. Couldn't believe that. Think of the smell! Also, there were people in our group who we could tell were Americans. One of them had an Italia Baseball sweatshirt on. After the tour, Drake asked him about Baseball in Italy. Someone with him came up to him and introduced himself as Jim Hendry, the GM of the Cubs. Drake chatted with him for a while.

Stairway to heaven???

Trevi Fountain

I think your uncle owns this place Jen. Miss you!

One of my favorite shots from the trip. In front of the Spanish Steps.

We found an Irish Pub, with American style food. Felt a lot closer to home in this place. English was spoken everywhere. Drake wants to go back here for the Superbowl. I am doubtful that will happen.
Okay so that is all I have for you now. Check back in a week or so. Miss you all!!!
